World War I Theme for 2015 New Year Swim

NYDS 2015 will be the village’s 31st swim.  Plans are going well to make this one the biggest and best yet!

The main aim of the swim is to raise money for charitable and worthy causes.  There is no entrance fee to take part, however what we would love you to do is get a NYDS sponsorship form and raise money.   We will ensure that every penny you raise will be donated to your chosen cause.  Where possible, we will add a little bit extra to your total – the more you raise, the bigger top up you have!

Following a public vote, the fancy dress theme has been decided as ‘World War 1’ – to commemorate the 100 years since the war began in 1914.

The new shirt has been designed and ordered.  It will be available for sale from the end of November.  They will be on sale as usual at Evans’ Newsagents, Saundersfoot.  If you don’t live locally and wish to buy a shirt, then please email me at

We are delighted to welcome new sponsors for NYDS 2015, namely Tojaz of Saundersfoot, Elston Construction Limited and Superfast Cymru.   Without these and our existing sponsors the swim would not be able to take place. Please view ‘Our Supporters’ for further information about the sponsors.   Thank you once again sponsors.

The team have had such a warm welcome from the council, businesses and residents in Pembrokeshire we wanted to show our appreciation by supporting an event that is important to the local community.   Superfast Cymru will also be braving the elements and entering a team into the swim.  All sponsorship will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Tenby.  Get ready for a superfast New Year!

Superfast Cymru is a partnership between BT and  Welsh Government  to deliver high speed fibre broadband across Wales.  Superfast broadband is not just about a faster Internet experience or about doing one thing quicker. It’s about everyone in the house being able to do their own thing online, all at the same time.

The Superfast Cymru team have been working  in Haverfordwest, Johnston, Milford Haven, Neyland and Pembroke over the past few months to bring fast fibre broadband to communities.  The work continues and we’re focused on bringing fibre to Tenby and Saundersfoot early in the New Year.
